Against Adulthood
I don’t have time to fully respond to this, but comments 3, 4, 6 and 7 at the bottom of the article pretty much sum up what I’d want to say anyway.
Look - I accept that the life I’ve chosen isn’t for everyone. But a full-on broadside like this seems written just to provoke angry responses.
And as for marriage and children, I think leaving love out of the equation is a huge flaw in this entire article. The love I feel for my wife (even though I know I don’t always do a good job of showing it), the love I have for my children and my faith are the greatest things in my life. And I know this seems like a callous thing to say for those who don’t have a wife or kids, but you can’t know it until you’ve experienced it. I never knew I could feel this way about any person until I met my wife and then when I had kids. I honestly can’t put the feeling into words, but don’t let bitter articles like this drive you away from experiencing it yourself.

I doubt the article will drive people away from experiencing marriage or children, because that’s the cultural norm. More likely, this will make those who are already debating this, consider it a viable alternative. He is a bit dickish about it tho.
