I had my last drink of alcohol 3 years ago and it’s been a dance-battling, boat-cruising, skinny-dipping, word-traveling, HUGE party ever since.
It wasn’t a choice of restriction or having less fun, but rather of fully experiencing everything and truly having the most fun possible. The way…
Great stuff. I’ve been seriously considering cutting out drinking entirely - although I drink very little as is - 1-2 drinks per week max. For some reason, I just want to cut it out completely though.
New Hunger Games trailers make the day so much better.
Love the last scene. Gave me chills.

The Jealous Sound - “Your Eyes Were Shining”
The new Jealous Sound album is out and it sounds identical to The Jealous Sound I listened to ad infinitum as a 16-year-old, driving too fast whenever it was warm enough to put the top down on my convertible. There’s an argument to be made here about how bands like The Jealous Sound (especially The Jealous Sound, which is in that weird niche beyond mid-’90s heavy-hitters like The Promise Ring but before, like, all those bands on Drive-Thru Records we like to pretend we never invested in emotionally) are nearly disposable. These songs aren’t technically or lyrically brilliant. The Jealous Sound isn’t going to inspire any sort of Internet babble about authenticity or empty signifiers, even though lines like “teenagers dancing in the gym” are, well, basically empty signifiers.
That’s OK. That’s great. I’m 22 and I’m a mess, albeit a mess with a 401(k), and the weather’s unseasonably warm today. A band I like a lot released an album that sounds like the last album they released, in 2003, and it’s called A Gentle Reminder. That’s really all I want out of it.
Yep. Only difference is I’m a little older.
